I just couldn’t resist responding to the blogger who said Obama was a liar that needed a teleprompter. Well…..my response is who are you comparing him too? He’s a liar compared to Bush 1 or 2? or are you comparing him to Regan or Clinton. At the end of their terms, they were all found to be vicious liars caught in the act publicly and privately. I get so tired of people throwing out vicious rumors about someone who at the time you blogged hat only been in office about 45days. If he’s a liar, please tell us what he’s lied about. As far as the teleprompter, if you think you could do his job and not refer or use a tool to help you remember the tons of information that has been thrown at you that day (because believe it or not, there aint nobody smart enough to remember a 30 or 40 minutes speech by heart in the amount of time he has to study). But I guess it was ok with you when the dumbest president on earth, President Bush probably used a teleprompter when he spoke to his wife. So if Obama needs one to refer to when he clearly and eloquately informing this nation of what he is trying to accomplish (after the Bush, Clinton, Bush fallout), then I would rather him use it than not and mis- inform us like past presidents did. (Shout out to “the Gipper”) with his crazy ass (May he rest in peace)

Sorry, but winning by 6% is not a landslide; a strong win maybe, but certainly not a landslide like Reagan's 10%+ wins. Reagan, Nixon and Bush Sr. had landslide wins... and if you want to claim that Bush Jr. "stole" the election, I can much more easily and rationally claim that Obama BOUGHT it. And work on your spelling and grammar before you call us dumb***es. Funny to that you buy into unsupported rumors about Bush but ignore the facts about Obama. Oh, and I wouldn't care really if most of the comments on this site were from Obama supporters (which would probably mean I was doing a better job) but that's definitely not true.

Obama's Great Win? Not So Great, Really.

The near orgasmic reaction in the media to Barack Obama’s win on Election-day is universal. His is being hailed as a mandate, a game changing win, a landslide. But, in reality, Obama’s “wind” was not as “righteous” as he thought, it was not a landslide at all. In fact, Obama’s isn’t as strong a win as Ronald Reagan’s or Nixon’s and it didn’t bring the mandate for Obama that the media is attempting to claim it did. Neither did Obama bring overwhelming numbers to the polls as everyone imagined, for that matter. In the end, the complete realignment for the Democrats did not occur. All Obama’s win revealed is that the American electorate is still closely divided and it also that the GOP has one more chance to make a come back.

Not a Landslide

Reagan won a landslide victory in 1980. Obama did not in 2008. Reagan beat incumbent Jimmy Carter with nearly 51% to Carter’s 41% of the vote in November of 1980. He won 489 to Carter’s 49 Electoral College votes. Now that is what a landslide looks like.

Obama’s victory is solid, yes, but not of Reagan’s caliber. Obama got 52% of the vote to McCain’s 46% and garnered 349 Electoral Votes to McCain’s 163. But, while strong, Obama did not do better than George H. W. Bush or either Reagan campaign. Obama also came nowhere near Nixon’s landslide win of 1972.

Obama did much better than Bill Clinton and both of G. W. Bush’s campaigns, for sure. But, with all the hype attached to Obama, with all the claims that he was bringing massive new numbers of voters to the table, to only beat McCain by 6% does not seem quite as amazing as Reagan’s win of 10% over Carter. Nor was his Electoral Count better than Reagan’s, or Bush the elder’s, or Nixon’s. McCain, it must be recognized, almost got 50% of the vote here...

Vote Turnout Not a Record

The highest turn out of voters was the 1960 race between JFK and Nixon. 63.8 percent of registered voters turned out to vote that year. While Obama saw a healthy 62.5 percent turnout, still it was also lower than that of 1964. Obama’s turn out did not set the highest total record.

hey i will never check this again i just ahve something to say all you ********* are mad as obama for hype because people like him? because country ellected him by a landslide and he was actually able to win an ellection unlike our former president who just pulled dirty trick thricked you ********* into thinking there was a war we needed to fight next to the country we all but abandoned only months after 9/11 its time people like you open your eyes or move out bush did coke too and he wasnt able to admit it so maybe what your unhappy about is honesty well when you belive in something good you dont have to lie you should give it a shot (isnt it funy most the posts on this thing are from obama supporters)

I wasn’t sure at the time of the original posting, but now I know, at least to the best of my knowledge, it is just a cigarette… although I still don’t find it comforting that he would pose for such a shot, obviously intending to make it look like he has a joint, let alone use marijuana and cocaine as he admitted.
