Obama’s Botched Oath of Office and Bizarre Poem

Granted, the biggest mistake there in the middle is due to Chief Justice Roberts saying “faithfully” in the wrong place, that is “I will execute the office of President to the United States faithfully” instead of “faithfully execute,” which Obama caught and then waited for Roberts to correct himself, which Roberts did. But Obama, now thrown off, still repeated the first incorrect version. Apparently, afterward the Chief Justice shook hands with the President to tell him that the stumble was his fault. This is the first recorded instance where both the President and Chief Justice have stumbled on the oath. Ironically, as a Senator, Obama had previously voted against Roberts’ confirmation to the Supreme Court, and so the event represented the first time a Supreme Court justice has sworn in a president who voted against him.

Obama still goofed a couple times on his own. First in the beginning when he started repeating too soon, and also left out the word “the” in “and will to the best of my ability” saying “and will to best of my ability.”

Oddly enough, this bizarre and irrelevant poem stirred up more talk than Obama’s inauguration speech, probably because it left everyone scratching their heads. As Rush Limbaugh put it, “an empty barrel makes the most noise” and that is exactly what this part of the Inauguration was… an empty barrel.

What?!
