I read the poll, and it's not as cut and dry as the blogger presents it to be. Most of the voters (81%) were also able to correctly acknowledge missteps in the Obama campaign, such as the "spread the wealth" comment. The idea that a 15 question survey can inclusively identify the reasons one might have for voting for a certain candidate is completely ludicrous.

As an irish observer of the election, I must say that I have been watching videos and reading articles about how ignorant americans are about the facts of their own country for years. It seems to be that this article just perpetuates the common notion that Americans in general are willing to accept ignorance as the status quo. This is not a phenomenon unique to Obama voters.

I personally pray that this phenomenon has been exaggerated but literally, i have been reading articles on this since i was seven. (Bill Bryson's Notes from a big Country). Either way i'm just gald that the ignorance led in the right direction and got the democrats into power over there.
