How Obama Got Elected
Wow. I really don’t even know what to say after watching this. I have such a vast array of emotional responses to this video, I don’t know where to begin. Disappointment, pity, sadness, anger, amusement, concern, disbelief, to name a few. Watch it first and then I will attempt to explain more afterward.
Here is the information and video from HowObamaGotElected.com.
On November 4th, 2008 millions of Americans were shocked that a man of Barack Obama’s limited experience, extreme liberal positions and radical political alliances could be elected President of the United States. For many of these Americans, the explanation was rather simple… the news media, completely enamored with Obama, simply refused to do their job.
On Election day twelve Obama voters were interviewed extensively right after they voted to learn how the news media impacted their knowledge of what occurred during the campaign. These voters were chosen for their apparent intelligence/verbal abilities and willingness to express their opinions to a large audience. The rather shocking video below seeks to provide some insight into which information broke through the news media clutter and which did not.

Because obviously interviewing a relative handful of Obama voters, while interesting, is hardly scientific proof of anything, we also commissioned a Zogby telephone poll which asked the very same questions (as well as a few others) with similarly amazing results.
Zogby Poll: Almost No Obama Voters Ace Election Test
Survey finds most Obama voters remembered negative coverage of McCain/Palin statements but struggled to correctly answer questions about coverage associated with Obama/Biden

512 Obama Voters 11/13/08-11/15/08 MOE +/- 4.4 points97.1% High School Graduate or higher, 55% College Graduates
Results to 12 simple Multiple Choice Questions
57.4% could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing)
81.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing)
82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing)
88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing)
56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing).
And yet…..
Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes
Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter
And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her “house,” even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!
Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.
Only .5% got all of them correct. (And we “gave” one answer that was technically not Palin, but actually Tina Fey)

Wow. I am still baffled, and yet I am not sure why. I knew that this was the only reason that Obama got elected, but it is still hard to digest when put together so clearly. I am so disappointed in modern society; that we live in the single greatest country that God ever gave man, and a large majority of us take it for granted or, worse yet, belittle and despise it. I pity the individuals who have succumbed to the liberal mentality of “instant gratification” and have forgotten that the single most valuable possession with which we are blessed is the ability to provide for oneself, which is the only true freedom. The fact that people can be so uninformed to like the idea of “spreading the wealth” makes me ill! Sadness, that a kind and decent woman who cares about nothing more than God, family and country was degraded and attacked in any attempt to humiliate her simply due to her political ideology. I have nothing but anger, disgust and contempt for the mainstream media who have finally twisted the knife in the heart of journalism and killed it dead. They hijacked America’s trust to turn a public service into a weapon of mass deception. Oddly, there is a sense of amusement while watching this video; I suppose an optimist would have to chuckle at its ridiculousness to keep oneself from either insanity or depression. For my country, I have such deep love and concern; the kind of love and concern a child has for a parent who is on a road to self-destruction. And finally disbelief. Just simple complete disbelief.

Conservatism’s current intellectual chaos reverberated in the Republican ticket’s end-of-campaign crescendo of surreal warnings that big government — verily,
Everyone is talking about this video from HowObamaGotElected.com , a website that believes the media’s love fest with Obama is what got him elected. It is the precursor to a documentary about 12 Obama supporters who were

This website is further proof that humans are deeply irrational. Give the man a chance. You guys had your fun with W and he made a pretty sad crock of it… Think of this as penance.
As an irish observer of the election, I must say that I have been watching videos and reading articles about how ignorant americans are about the facts of their own country for years. It seems to be that this article just perpetuates the common notion that Americans in general are willing to accept ignorance as the status quo. This is not a phenomenon unique to Obama voters.
I personally pray that this phenomenon has been exaggerated but literally, i have been reading articles on this since i was seven. (Bill Bryson’s Notes from a big Country). Either way i’m just gald that the ignorance led in the right direction and got the democrats into power over there.
I read the poll, and it’s not as cut and dry as the blogger presents it to be. Most of the voters (81%) were also able to correctly acknowledge missteps in the Obama campaign, such as the “spread the wealth” comment. The idea that a 15 question survey can inclusively identify the reasons one might have for voting for a certain candidate is completely ludicrous.
